Every time I attempt to setup this freshly downloaded game I receive this error message "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
Does this mean I can't run this game on my PC or is there a way I can work around this?
It's already set up. Don't run the "setup" file in the game directory. Just play.
What do you mean exactly by 'setup the downloaded game' ? You can't install the game or you can't run it once it's installed?
If you mean the game is already installed and you can't run it, are you using the shortcut the installer placed on your desktop to start the game ?

I would...but I see no other icon other than the setup_phantasmagoria one. Hmm maybe I will try downloading it again.

Can you see if the file has an .exe at the end of its name ?
The file you downloaded should be called setup_phantasmagoria.exe
If the .exe is missing from the file name, just rename the file to setup_phantasmagoria.exe and try to run it then.

I've downloaded it using the download using browser option. Then when the file has finished downloading the only icon I see to click on is "setup_phantasmagoria." There's no icon for just "Phantasmagoria" or anything that I can just double click on to play...

Huh, weird-it didn't have the .exe at the end so I tried re-naming it as such and I still got the same error message :(

The file you downloaded is an installer. You have to run it first so that the game gets installed, and you won't be able to play before the game is installed.
The problem is, apparently some problem with the installer file is not letting you install the game.
Maybe you got a corrupt download there, and in that case redownloading the file will probably fix the problem, so maybe you could try that.

Yeah perhaps. I'm re-downloading it again now. *fingers crossed* this time it works!

It must have been a corrupt file because /now/ it's installing. Thank you for your help. :D
