I haven't played either games, but I'm totally interested in checking 'em out. I really want to play the first one, but I'm trying to cut back on spending and haven't shelled out that 10 bucks yet. Then I see the 2nd game on here for 6 bucks. Hmm...
So which one is better? I'm assuming I could play the 2nd one without playing the first and be fine.
Honestly, I'll probably wait til the inevitable combo deal and buy both of 'em when they're at a discount.

The first. By leagues. The second is extremely tedious, the plot doesn't evolve for a long time, and... Well, I'm more of a splatter fan than enjoying S&M and relationship triangles. And the second is never, ever, at all, scary or frightening.

But the 2nd one is hilarious! Especially after watching Spoony's playthrough.

I think both are entertaining, but I prefer the first for its more gothic atmosphere.
