jamiehavok: The British version (will have an 18 bbfc certificate on the box) has a few of the more intense violent scenes cut out and permanently replaced with the less intense scenes, no way to un-censor it without getting hold of the uncut movie files and replacing them on your hard drive and editing a .cfg file to read said files instead of the ones on the cd!
If its not the british version the only thing i can suggest is find the files 4391.duk and 4395.duk on cd2 - this is one of the scenes which is probably censored (bobs murder - in both its less intense and more intense variation). if both these files are the same size in megabytes their will be no way to uncensor it as the more intense movie will have been replaced with the less intense movie so its the same movie twice! If they are different it means the uncensored movie is still there and you'll be able to get in in game (with maybe a bit of tinkering with the .cfg files)!

jamiehavok: too be honest your not missing much, they only cut 2 scenes and they're not particularly gory even when they're uncut (dunno why they cut them in the first place - Phantas 1 was way gorier and britain didn't cut any of that!) I think i'd rather play the game with the better 16 bit graphics and with the less intense version of those 2 scenes, than with the horrible dos 256 color 8 bit gfx version on gog, which ends up looking worse than other 256 color fmv games of the era! you can always watch the uncut scenes on youtube lol!

edit ...actually if you buy the gog version you will then have access to the uncut scenes and then its possible to put them into the cd version and play your cd version uncut with the better gfx, cant remember exactly how i did it back in the day as i had a british version and later got the american version and i messed around with the movie files! - i'll look into it!

edit 2: Ah yeh i got it - its on that anthony larme site again - all you do is open resource.win in notepad from the cd version install, edit the line that says movieDir=CD:\DUK to something along the lines of movieDir=c:\uncutph2;CD:\DUK (you can name the directory anything you want as long as there's a ; between the directory and cd:\duk)
then put the uncut files from the gog install into the c:\uncutph2 directory or whatever you name it (basically 4391.duk and 8215.duk - they were the only 2 cut in my version anyway) and then start the cd version with the squirtthecat installer and you have uncut phantasmagoria 2 with 16 bit gfx!
