So I bought the special pack of Phantasmagoria and Phantasmagoria 2. I played this game years ago on Windows 95. I was able to install the games alright but when I try to run either one of them, I get the intro music of the game with a blank green screen. I have tried running it in several different compatibility modes and running it as administrator. I'm so annoyed because I now feel like I just threw $13 in the trash. I cannot figure out what to do to make the graphics show up. Please help.

have you tried compatibility modes? or running the dos version through dosbox, that definitely worked on xp for me last year with the first game (retail version, but gog uses the same method).

So how do you run Windows compatibility modes on the DOSbox versions of the games GOG is selling?....;)

Running the GOG shortcuts in various Win compatibility modes won't do anything because all those icons do is launch DOSbox from Windows and the game is run through DOSbox emulation, not any version of Windows--ie, "win95 compatibility" mode won't accomplish anything. Since you say you have sound, it's probably a problem with your videocard driver.

Both games run perfectly for me under Win10x64, an R9 380 4GB, and the Crimson 16.3 drivers, no compatibility modes of any kind set.

BTW, you don't have to waste your money at GOG--they have a 30-day money-back guarantee that states if they cannot get the game running in your system in 30 days they'll refund your purchase price. It generally pays to know these things up front, though, as it probably won't do you any good, now.

Hello,

this "error" depends on the video scheme selected in DosBox, try to change the mode in the Conf-File (or with the GOG Grafik-Selector) from overlay to ddraw (or try opengl). In most cases this solves it.
