I pass the cursor over where I think the letter opener is on the desk in the library but all I get is the arrow to turn around. Has anyone else had this problem.

The letter opener is on the little dark statue on the desk is that what your trying to click?

There is a high back chair there, a lamp, a blotter and what looks like a bell . Do I even have the right desk???

Your in the library you open with the key right? It has a long table in the middle and an empty fireplace and then down one end is the desk with the high back chair and the lamp? If you click on that it changes the view so you can see the other items on the desk. The statue is the dark object on the right side of the table if your facing your character. Pick that up and then drag and drop it into the eye to have a closer look.

I had the stature all the time but when I dragged it over the eye it just looked like a black onyx statue. I just happened to click on the head while I was examining it and out popped the letter opener blade. "Geez Louizze" Thanks for your help!!!

You probably missed that there's a small button-thingy on the back of it's head :)
