So I just got a copy of this and feels really good. Gives me 90's memory.

Anyway I found that items are spinning way to fast in examining objects mode.

Even if I try to click mouse buttons for a brief moment, the item spins like 10 times already.

Can't really 'exam' what information it contains.

Is there any way to slow it down?

You know, there's only one item in the entire game you need to examine - and that's the little statue in the office/library. That's still in chapter one. (You don't even have to turn it.)
No other item in the entire game gives you any kind of information or need to be examined to advance the game. If you're talking about the first game. Havn't tried the second yet.

Other than that, in GK1 you could reduce the speed on how everything moved. Tried that with Phantasmagoria, but it doesn't seem to work here.

Thanks for the answer. You are right. I just finished the game and it seems that only two items were actually meaningful to exam. A figurine and a brooch.

Had fun but a really short game it was. I hope the second one lasts a little more.

Oh, right, the brooch. Forgot that piece.
I usually trade the brooch for the cruzifix at the antique store and use the glas shard instead.
The objects spin really fast on my computer as well. But I find that it doesn't really matter as it does not effect gameplay or outcome. If your really interested in having a particular view, I find that some random rotation will eventually get the object in the orientation I want after a few tries.
To make the items spin normally as opposed to hilariously fast, change the cycles in the config-file to 10000 or less.

The game was created in an era when games mostly were created based on cpu-engine, which today basically means that some things will either go too fast or skip entirely. This is very apparent in eg. Grim Fandango and Myst, where some cutscenes either skip completely or is over in about one hundredth of the originally appointed time.
Though I would rather set cycles to 25000 (otherwise loading times get a little to long) I don't understand why GOG doesn't change it. More than once I've seen mediocre config settings (in this case cycles=max...I mean one big strength of DOSBox is the ability to adjust speed...why not use it?!). As if GOG isn't willing to spend more than half an hour on a "new" game.
