I swear there was a thread on this already, but I've hunted through and can't find anything - when this was first released on GOG there was a patch to convert the DOS version to the Windows one (and thus have much better video quality). But I can't seem to find it anymore - only patches to convert a Windows version to the DOS one. I think the patch was literally just the executable (the sierraw.exe file). If all else fails I do know where I can get a copy of the Windows CD image and patch it in myself, but I'd prefer a tidier method.

Could it be this thread ?

PHAN 1 or 2?
Phant 2, sorry, should have mentioned that...but Namur's link has the info in it! Cheers!

Sweet, I'll keep it in mind when I fire up PHAN2 myself...

The problem is the game crashes and doesn't support saving in the latest version of the DOS-to-Windows file. It's handy if you don't want to fiddle with DOSBox stuff, but not being able to save is...bad.
Ok, so....

Given that the Windows SierraW.exe executable isn't fully compatible (save game problems, as noted in other threads), are there any DosBox settings that can make this work? Or, given that DosBox is all about emulating Dos, are we limited to the 8-bit colour that Dos works in and we just have to deal with the video quality that DosBox will output?
