A very hyped and expected game back in the day, but one that personally let me down. First up, why was Roberta Williams chosen to write the game? The plot is like a mashup of the worst Stephen King novels and general horror clichés, and gets very stagnant at times. The very ending is thrilling and well made, but sadly doesn't make up for the awfulness prior to it.
The actors are quite bad, and at times there was too much video and too little gameplay. Which for the most part was dead easy aswell. And the music.. aside from a few good pieces that mostly come during videos, the gameplay music in itself is a horrible midi "bleep bloop" -fest.
And they somehow managed to make the sequel even worse..
Overall, a very, very rough diamond. But if you are a fan of the genre and can stomach the clichés and lapses in gameplay, then you should definitely give the game a go.
