My first turn-based, party-based RPG was Phantasie III on Commodore 64. Looking at the graphics of these ports, I'm bummed at how different they looked. Commodore 64 graphics were so much better than PC and/or Apple graphics at the time. WIshing there is/was a way for them to be available on GOG in those C64 ports. I know there are C64 emulators out there but honestly, they're a pain and they kind of suck. Oh well. "Maybe" I'll break down and get these at some point but, as the subject says, I'm sad.
I am not sure that this is much different. I also played these all on my C64 and loved them. The graphics of any game just don't look that great after the era of modern games.
Honestly, bare bones effort.

The AtariST version of 1, 2 and 3 are far superior in all regards.
The Amiga had 1 and 3 who mirrored the AtariST version.

Better sound, better flow, better graphics, full mouse support (albeit obnoxious that you couldn't use the keyboard in 1 and 2).

And that's without me hoping we'd get a Final Fantasy Pixel remaster/Bard's tale/Wizardry treatment for this game here
Or hoping we'd get some minor bug fixes (just wait until you guys play Phantasie II, especially if you import your Party from the first game).

Did purchase it (well on steam) to encourage the effort and support the original creator
But it's back to emulation for me.

What a let down.

I don't know if it will be possible to import a party from 1 to 2 in this case, since 1 is DOS and 2 is Apple II.
I haven't played this yet, but man oh man am I delighted to finally have it. I've been requesting it for YEARS.

Me too, just wish GOG wasn't so lazy not to use the Amiga version with emulator built in. Instead of money grab go for the best version!
