I don't know if anyone on here remembers this. But there used to be an old patch for Pax Imperia that modified the minefields. It made them vicious at high levels, homing, self replicating and extremely dense. So much that even a well armed fleet had to use some caution to get through. Pretty nice when vanilla late game fleets could bulldoze right through a lvl 5 minefield with no concern.

Does anyone happen to have that old patch? Does it work on Gog's version? I'll go trawl the net a bit, and see if I can scare up a copy as well.

This patch addresses the Mac to PC network problems as well as
several combat related changes.

- Increased ship short range by 50 pixels
- Increased ship point range by 100 pixels
- Increased orbital point range by 150 pixels
- Mines will now switch targets
- Mines return to their starting position when they have no target
to chase
- Fixed bug that orbitals were not firing at their complete range
- An idle mine will go the home position of a mine that was destroyed
- Increased mine movement speed
- Mines now take damage to kill, do not die in one shot.
- Fixed fleet controller in Universe window to color code damage bars
- Changed mines to be visible if a player doesn't have any ships in
that combat

Please also keep in mind that SAVED GAMES AND CUSTOM SPECIES FROM
EARLIER VERSIONS WILL NOT WORK AFTER THIS PATCH IS INSTALLED.
