Guys,
in the case of pirate attack on my unarmed ship the outcome always positive if I chose auto solution (I mean no cargo lose, ship escaped)?

From my experience, if I have no chance of winning the battle or even escaping (ship fully loaded and slow) I always pick auto resolve battle and the outcome most of the time seems to be positive (no cargo lost, only few points of damage to ship). Ship unarmed, without captain.
