I just installed Patrician 4 Gold but noticed that the desktop icon just defaults to the P4 base game. To actually play with the addon “Rise of a Dynasty” I had to go inside the game folder and start with the Patrician4_addon.exe. Maybe GOG should take a look at this?

ya its treating them as two different games.

you can go to the game in gog galaxy, select configuarion (slider symbols) -> manage installation -> configure -> function -> slect data 2 as you standard .exe (it's the addon exe)

Thank you so very much! I started playing this after buying it to get the add on. I had been playing the base game from a CD. I did not notice any changes and now I know why!

1 question, is there any reason to play the base game? Do you lose anything by playing the addon?
