For those interested in upgrading their Patrician 1 GOG install to the CD-ROM version of "The Patrician" download this RAR archive:

"Patrician GOG CD-ROM upgrade.rar" includes these four files:

Patrician (GOG) - DOSBox SVN r4482.exe
Patrician (GOG) CD-ROM upgrade (includes DOSBox config adjustments).exe
Patrician (Manual) [SedrynTyros].pdf
Patrician (Map) [SedrynTyros].pdf

This pack assumes you have Patrician 1 installed to the default location of "C:\GOG Games\Patrician"

Execute "Patrician (GOG) CD-ROM upgrade (includes DOSBox config adjustments).exe" self-extracting RAR archive and leave the default target of "c:\", opting to overwrite existing files. This will install the CD-ROM image and all the additional files needed to run the CD-ROM version, including altered DOSBox config files. Optionally, you may also execute "Patrician (GOG) - DOSBox SVN r4482.exe" to overwrite GOG's included DOSbox 0.74-2 with a newer pre-release version of DOSBox.

The CD-ROM version of "The Patrician" plays CD digtial audio (redbook) tracks from the CD for Music which sound a lot better than the MIDI tracks played from the Floppy version. There are also some Movies, including an Intro that can be played from the Main Menu of the game.
