So I have been going through the campaigns and enjoying them alot. But I keep stuck in this small scenario. The goal is to get 3 million gold in 3 months. I assume at this moment (but I am not sure) that they mean property value. However, I don't even seem to make a profit and grow in those 3 months. I already worked on automatic trading convoys, managing trading offices and closing down facilities which don't seem relevant for me. But even then, I keep making losses on my balance. One of the biggest expenses is the wage payment. But I need them to run the convoys and the facilities which produce high profit items.

Has somebody completed this mission, and if so, would you like to enlighten me on how you did this? Is there something huge I am overseeing and how should I take care of my cities in this scenario?

Yes, you do not need 3kk cash, "just" company value, you start with around two million. Can be completely tied up in goods, buildings and ships with no cash.

But that scenario has some bug, it seems unwinnable or at least the collected wisdom of the internets hasn't found the real win condition yet. Its certainly possible to get the required cv, but the game doesn't recognize it :-/

If you can read german, here is a discussion where people who know a whole lot about the game can't solve it either.

Has been a while since I tried that one (unsucessful of course), but from what I remember / would do now:
1. with so few ships and counting houses I prefer manual trading, to catch every bargain there is and sell goods faster. No convois, spread out ships as much as possible. Three months isn't much time to start produtions, so trading is key in this scenario.
2. Shutting down productions is rarely a good idea, unsold goods in storage still contribute to your cv, and closed bussinesses do incur taxes, just no wages. Goods are counted by their default value when it comes to cv, if you don't know them start a new endless game and hire your first manager, his prices are the defaults. Buying everything thats below those prices helps, unless its huge amounts of grain or such that eat that profit via storage costs.
3. Loans given count for the full amount you hope to get back, only adjusted on payback day if the borrower can't pay, so giving loans is good for your cv, especially long ones past the scenario end date. Taking loans is just the opposite, your cv immediately goes down the payback amount minus what you got.
4. since you don't have to care about town supplies and the hansa is quite small and content, you could capture a good number of white ships, to use and for their value
5. afaik wells and roads are truely donated to the town, don't build those and hope for no fire
6. if all else fails there is always the exploit of a high trade skill captain constantly buying and selling the same goods, generating money out of thin air via his trade skill discount. Unsatisfying but surefire way to get rich, but still no way to win this one.
7. I don't trust those balance stats at all, they seem to leave out some things. Only check your cv, if it goes up you made profit no matter what the other numbers say.
8. Tavern escorts are highly profitable since you are guaranteed a new ship.

I hope there was at least something useful in there

Thxs for the reply! I suppose I should skip this mission then, if it's impossible to win, then there's no point trying.
Poking around I see that's in Patrician 3, where you can go straight to mission "Reorganization". Since I play the game for pure trading, I'll see if that approach is helpful at winning the broken mission.
EDIT: It sucks for using a pure trading style, not recommended. Multiple cities with multiple production buildings that lack workers. Tried to sell my way out, but it just dips you farther from your NW goals.

interesting mission can't seem to win at least with company value I finished with 3.25 million in company value. but lost ....ships are the key posting near hideaways and taking every escort you can find. near the end i thought of becoming a pirate and wreaking havoc. never been my style but could give a huge gold boost. and not enough time to get in trouble.
definitely worth playing set your own goals don't worry about the possible unwinnable bug.
