I've just installed and started the game for the first time just now and after the opening intro movie everything goes a bit weird. I get a half width screen, and all the colours are gaudy pinks & yellows. I have absolutely no idea what has happened. Anyone have any suggestions?

Your computer needs to be able to do at least 800x600 resolution as that is used in the menu, you're not on a really tiny netbook?

Try skipping the intro by adding /nointro at the end of the path in the shortcut properties. It doesn't sound like the usual problem caused by the intro, but its the only thing I can think of.

The longer post I had written about half an hour ago seems to have vanished into the ether, but that doesn't matter any more as it appears that after shutting down last night, and restarting the comp this morning the problem has vanished. Cheers for the reply though :-)

For future reference (I'm sure I'll have equally personal incompetence driven problems in the future) it's a 17" toshiba laptop, 8gb RAM, 1.8ghz AMD A4-6210.

Well, it seemed as if this had solved my problem, but sadly a new one appears to have surfaced. Everything is graphically ok now, but as soon as I click on anything - campaign/tutorial/etc - the game freezes, shrinks to roughly a quarter screen and then crashes...

Sadly not.

I had the same problem, try using the compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3. That worked for me.
