Can you simply rebind keys in this game?

Sure, you can in two ways. First, you can go to the in-game settings, and rebind it in the controls tab. Second, you can go the game folder, data sub-folder, and open the file called init using notepad. There doesn't seem to be a restore to default set-up feature, so make any changes wisely. I hope this helps.
