Hi,

I just got to the point where day 1 turns to day 2. My hunger level etc are fine, but when it goes past midnight, I get cutscene with one of the bird-like executors and a masked guy, and I'm thrown back to the main menu. There's a voice speaking in russian, but there are no subtitles. Am I doing something wrong, or is the game bugged?

Did you complete the quest of the day before midnight? Sometimes failing the main quest means failing the game, sometimes the game lets you off with dire consequences.
