I patched the game today (1.0.4d.01) in GOG Galaxy, but now when I press Play, it launches my Steam Client. I don't have the game on Steam, and I haven't started Steam in a good while anyway. Anyone else have this, or a good solution?
edit: Same thing happens when using the Shortcut, or when using wrath.exe directly, so I guess it's not Galaxy that's to blame.

If you use GOG Galaxy, you can go back to the previous patch by going to [weird button right of play] -> manage installation -> configure -> disable auto update -> select version 1.03xx
Renaming "steam.exe" to something else, like steam1.exe, will prevent the game from finding it and it will open normally, as a temporary workaround.

Yeah, I just thought I'd try that too, see if it works.

Haha, fun! I'll have to try that if rolling back doesn't do it.

In all honesty going back to the previous version is not what I would call a fix, considering you can't even complete chapter 4 on the previous patch. Thanks to caba though, sure would like to hear from gog though on why exactly this is happening and when they will fix it.

It should work as a very strong lever to make the developers act fast, when GOG hears that a game redirects to Steam instead of GOG.

renaming the steam.exe works too as mentioned in other posts.
1.0.4d.02 is up and this is fixed!
