Hi there!

Because i have to start again bec. i did not unlock the trickster mythic path im thinking bout changing my mc.

My former 2handed fighter with a greatsword was not bad but super squishy.
I read somewhere that a mutationwarrior would not that squishy later. I would build him with twf estocs/bastard swords or falcata.

Any opinions here?
I guess both would be human with the smith background (+2 vita checks) or thievery (+2 initative)

For 2handed fighter stats would be:

Str: 19
Dex: 14
Con: 14
Wis:10
Int: 10
Char: 12

First Feats: Power attack, cleave, cleaving finish. Later into weapon focus: greatsword, outflank, combat reflexes, vital strike and so on.

For mutationwarrior:
Str: 19
Dex: 15 (for two weapon training)
Con: 14
Wis: 10
Int: 10
Char: 10

First feats: Exotic weapon: Estoc/Falcata/Bastard, TWF, Weapon Focus X. Later double slice, dazzling display, weapon spec, outflank, WT: heavy blades, improved TWF, advanced training: effortless DW, MD: feral mutagen, improved crit: X and so on.

Both would be trickster mythic path with more crit feats e.g.

Thanks in advance for any hints /opinions :)
Two handed figther can take a 4 point dip into thug to get some good fear effects on hitting the opponents with cleave.

Mutation warrior is probably stronger in the long run, and better suited for single class action.

The mutagens are also a bit more invovled decision making.
THe problem with your two-handed fighter is that he both lacks armor training and you gave him only a moderate Dexterity and a moderate Consitution. This leaves him with both a fairly low Hit Point gain and a low Armor Class as your lack of armor training forces you to choose between high dexterity and light armor versus low dexterity and heavy armor (or mediocre Dexterity and medium armor).

Is a mutation warrior less squishy?

The mutation, like the two-handed fighter lacks armour training, so you will still have to choose between Dexterity based Armor Class and Armor based Armor Class.

Also wielding two weapons would still leave you without the armor bonuses of shields (except bucklers). Since you want to wield two weapons it might be an idea to look at the game's item list and see if you can wield two weapons of the same type (such as two bastard swords), which is less feat intensive.

The mutation fighter would be tougher due to his mutagen bonus to Constitution and a natural armor bonus to armor class. The temprary penalty would be no great loss.

Looking at 'Discoveries' feral mutation would not be the best choice as you want to focus on your two weapon built rather than also having claw attacks. The best discoveries for you are based around critical resistance and healing optionss, and Greater Mutation.

The mutation fighter will be a bit tougher in sitations, but will do less damage if you focus on survivability. That said the mutagen warrior has at least a choice between boosting Strength, Dexterity or Constitution.
That said, you still will be a bit of a glass canon.

The quetion about background: does a +2 to Fortitude help more or a +2 to initiative? Both are ok. It might be best to go with a craftsman as such a background comes also with the Athletics Skill which is better for a fighter than things such as Trickery and Stealth.
Thank you 2 for your answers :)

Maybe you missunderstood me. Im not playing a single char without other npc's. So i have always Seelah as a pure paladin as a tank who goes in 1. Also there are camellia, lann, woljif and ember to help me.

Im lvl 5 atm and mutationwarrior feels rly well. I only drink the str mutagen for even more dmg. Sometimes its a bit squishy but with some healing+buffs its doable. Im not playing on unfair so i guess it will be fun later too :)

Ofc i could build the mutationwarrior with more armor-training and drink constitution mutagen but that would ruin the dmg, i have the tank for that stuff and camellia wears a tiny shield too.(with a nice proc if she gets a crit= 2x illusions will pop up)

Im happy with it and with the speaking weapon as an estoc +1 i also got another fine magic estoc+1 too.

Will attack the mansion of the tradesman now and then finally again up to the grey garrison this time with trickster mythic path unlocked, even azata, demon+angel+golden dragon ^^
