I disagree. Part of the appeal of Kingmaker is its difficulty. If not for several party wipes in Chapter 3 on Normal (I guess I was actually playing on Challenging with slight adjustments), I would not have discovered the wonders of summoning a bunch of trash creatures/skeletons.
