I downloaded the game, but when i press play, either from gog laucher either exe directly nothing happens, the process kingmaker.exe is running tho, but the game won't start, that is on win 7, so i am wondering anyone else has this problem?

Sorry, I haven't finished downloading so I can't help you right now, but just in case, have you tried launching the game in administrator mode and/or just letting the exe run, see if it's just a bit slow on the uptake?

Does it look frozen in task manager, or is it accumulating processing and memory?

Running exe in admin didn't do anything, the exe process is frozen/idle not doing anything in task manager :(

Just let it run for now, just in case. My download will be finished shortly so I'll see if running in compatibility modes helps, but I have no idea what is causing this, sorry.

Edit: Download ended, I had to tell my firewall not to block the game and it "froze" a bit on the first "kingmaker pathfinder" loading scree, but otherwise works so it may be a compatibility thing, no idea which setting you should use, though.

Same here. I get to the Pathfinder Kingmaker load screen and the bar fills maybe a 1/2 inch and locks up....

And with me not being techno/computer saavy I am stumped.

I have the same issue. The game crashed on the loading screen. I've tried several options without success, very disappointing :(
I regret preordering it now. Should have waited for the 2$ Sale in a year when the game is finished.

The game starts and goes to a loading screen. Loading start to an inch and then nothing (sound continues though).
Anyone got an idea on how to solve ?

Same issue after install, start game and it hangs on the loading bar on starting screen.

First u click 4th button, then click the list on the right (u wont see text) and select any option that is not the first one (english), then a window will appear, click the left button of the window, then the game resets with the new language, repeat selecting english this time

Ok, so it ended up running after all.
During the loading screen, just wait. Mine came back after 1 min and a half

Devs are actually on Steam saying to all to let the game load because the first time it needs a lot of time, it seems. If it's not crashing, just wait.

I can confirm that ... takes forever and 3 minutes to load :P

Mine crashed every single time. No matter how much time I left it charging, it doesn't. Don't understand this kind of things. I payed in advanced and cannot even begin to play?

Linux version, same problem. The game grabs screen, changes the cursor and then nothing ever happens. Tired of waiting, killed the process. Last log entry says:

WwiseUnity: Failed load Init.bnk with result: 1953066601

Mine is definitely crashing with one of those "this program is not responding" boxes (Windows 7 holdout here). As with many others, it gets to the initial loading screen, the progress bar gets a fraction of an inch, and then the music keeps playing but absolutely nothing else happens. Sometimes eventually the "not responding" dialoge pops up on its own, other times you have to alt-tab to realize it's there, but it's always lurking somewhere.

Others are reporting it takes four minutes to load, and not just the first time. I have the patience for that sometimes with a heavily modded game but that's not even a little bit like acceptable in an ostensibly professional product.
