I'm trying to mod Pathfinder Kingmaker on my Mac, which means I can't use the Nexus mod managers. How can I manually install mods into the game's files on GOG?

I asked the same question on this forum and received help in this thread:

https://www.gog.com/forum/pathfinder_kingmaker/installing_mods_on_mac_os

The Unity Mod Manager only has to be run once (using mono as described in the thread above) to modify the Pathfinder app. After than new mods can be installed manually.

Last time I checked, though, this did not work with macOS 10.15 (Catalina). I don't know of a way to get mods working if you've already upgraded to that.

Good luck.

Thanks. I decided to install the game on my Windows partition, and the mods work fine there.

Can't help regarding mono or Unity Mod Manager in general, but for getting mods to work in Pathfinder, someone has generously made available the necessary files so that it can be done without running UMM.

The download and instructions are at: https://github.com/ThyWoof/UMM-MAC-PathFinderKingMaker

This is working for me running the latest version of Kingmaker on Big Sur. Good luck.

I've just tried it on macOS Big Sur 11.6 with Kingmaker 2.1.7b and it seems to work!

I apologize for the possibly ignorant question but absent mono, how were you able to launch UMM?

There is no need to install mono or launch UMM separately if you manually install the files from the linked download into the Kingmaker app. After this is done, a window comes up when launching Kingmaker that allows you to choose mods and adjust their settings. The mods themselves go into a folder called "Mods" in the same folder as the Kingmaker app.
