First install on a MacBook Pro (mid 2015 model) -- launched fine, went through character creation started game.

It was running very slow so I changed the resolution & graphics quality and cleared some HD space.

Now when I try to run it the game crashes right after I click one of the customize / select a premade options.

I also get that crash if I try to open the one save game I have from my first start.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the problem persists.

Since it's the only thing I modified, I've tried launching it again with the default resolution/quality restored, but still crashes.

DId a bit of hunting -- it's some problem with the "Metal Render Pipeline" -- "rasterSampleCount (2) is not supported by device". Doesn't seem like something I can fix...

I think I know about this issue. It seems that the game runs in OpenGL instead of Metal.
To fix this, you have to launch the game through the Terminal app with "-force-gfx-metal". It should look like "/Applications/Kingmaker.app/Contents/MacOS/Kingmaker -force-gfx-metal" if you've installed the game in Applications.

If not - just find the game in Finder, then drag it from Finder and drop it into the Terminal window, it will populate Terminal with the full path. Then add "/Contents/MacOS/Kingmaker -force-gfx-metal"

Well dang, wish I'd seen this reply before I gave up on the game after getting no feedback from the tech support contact aside from an autoresponder email.
