Hi,

I'm not a common forum poster so apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I'm trying to update my game to the 1.2.6c version, but there is no option to download the 1.2.5d version I need to ready the game for the latest patch.

The attached is what I see in the update section

Does anyone know what I can do / if there's a fix?

Not really. GoG policy is keeping just the recent few patches and that is not really compatible with a patching habits of owlcat.
Patch dumps made by forum users were outlawed. You can message support and maybe they will provide you with a patch(probably not). Fastest way would be to re-download the game given you have decent connection.
Otherwise there might be a patch file somewhere on the web, but for the linux it would be hard to find.
Oh, and I think Galaxy can update your game to the latest version, but IDK if it's there for linux.

Same problem here, it really looks like a mistake. There are old patches all the way back to version 1.2.3, but the step from 1.2.5c to 1.2.5d is missing.

In the Windows, non-Galaxy world, the patches check if the version is at the right level for this particular patch to apply. If not, then they refuse to execute. Does it work that way on linux as well?

The reason I ask is because they sometimes deliberately remove patches from the sequence and replace them with patches that skip several in the numerical sequence. An example to clarify what I said in such a complicated and opaque manner: there's a windows patch that applies to version 1.2.5d and brings it up to 1.2.6c. If you look for 1.2.6a or b you will not find them. Nevertheless, there is a path to follow to patch to the current level.

The way to tell with Windows patches (and the point of my question about level validation) is that if the patches let you apply them, and if you can get to the current level, then any missing patches are unnecessary.
Yes, I tried installing the more recent patch on 1.2.5c and it refused, so it's not compatible and there is some validation.

I think they just forgot to upload one of the patches.

On Linux, they have 1.2.3 -> 1.2.4c -> 1.2.5b -> 1.2.5c -(missing)- 1.2.5d -> 1.2.6c.
On Windows, they have the whole chain: 1.2.3 -> 1.2.4c -> 1.2.5c -> 1.2.5d -> 1.2.6c. (But they three different versions of one of those patches in different file sizes, so looks like something is broken too.)
On Mac, there are no patches at all.

Huh. Well that's happened before, as well. If you open a support ticket, they will engage with you. They may or may not put the patch up for download. If they do not put the patch up, then (it has been my experience) they will offer to send you the missing patch personally.
Thanks for the help, I've opened a ticket.

1.2.5d was never released for Linux. When 1.2.6 came out, they just posted the 1.2.5d->1.2.6c patch, and still continued to not provide 1.2.5d. I always eventually download the whole thing anyway, so I guess it didn't bother me enough to open a ticket at the time. The whole 1.2.5 update cycle was a mess, even for non-Linux. I expect more of the same in the future, until this game finally stabilizes.

There is no Galaxy for Linux, and probably never will be. Providing patches for Linux is also a rare thing. That's at least part of why I don't bother looking for patches any more. It's not like I'm in that much of a hurry to get to the latest release, although it is annoying when there are new releases every other day, given how long it takes to download these games on public Internet.
Got a response from support. Apparently, that particular version of the patch had some technical issues and was never released.

They mentioned an unofficial client that one could try and that seems to be able to create patches on the fly: https://www.reddit.com/r/gog/comments/amkgcl/i_made_a_cli_linux_gog_client/

But apart from that, you have to download the full game again to get the latest version.
