It took me a bit to realise what was wrong, there is no music and no combat sounds (swords clinking, spell swooshes).

The console is spammed with:
AK Error: Unknown game object ID on event. Make sure the game object is registered before using it and do not use it once it was unregistered.

Besides that the performance is abysmal, it constantly keeps two cores busy, even when it's sitting idle in the inventory.
This is frankly disappointing.

Did you replace libAkSoundEngine.so as seems to be required for this game? I wish they would ship a working version, but I have had to replace it in every shipped Linux version. I have no idea where to get a working copy from, other than Pillars of Eternity 2. I can't reproduce your issues just now because I haven't downloaded 1.3.2d yet. Maybe in another 8 hours or so, unless I get distracted.

Edit: I have now tested 1.3.2d, and it is fine for me (but I didn't test it without first replacing libAkSoundEngine.so).

Thanks. I think they think the fixed it at some point by shipping a copy of libSDL and it does seem to work for some people. Not for me though.
I did replace libAkSoundEngine.so with the one from PoE2 and it works fine now.

This issue and the workaround has been known for over a year now. I really don't understand why they still haven't managed to replace that library.

I no longer have to replace libAkSoundEngine.so with 2.0.4, but apparently it breaks the game for other people. I guess you just can't win with that library. I'm downloading 2.0.5c right now, and hopefully they haven't reverted to the broken one.

Edit: apparently I misread the post reporting issues with 2.0.4. I'm guessing it will be fine from now on.

At least for me, the issue with no music present is fixed in 2.0.5c.
We are still looking into this. It seems we will be able to fix it in one of the upcoming updates.
I suddenly started having sound issues when I went to Silverlake. Have had to restart the game several times, but after playing for a little while (30 or so minutes), the sound becomes strange again. The music that is playing can suddenly stop, voices will be jittery and on-off, and some GUI sounds will be off or delayed. Everything seems a bit messy. But then sometimes the music will play normally, while other sounds ('barks', combat effects, walking sounds) will be jittery.

This is on Linux Mint 19.3 with the 2.0.8 version of the game (pathfinder_kingmaker_2_0_8_gog_36208.sh). The libAkSoundEngine.so file is present.

Is there a way to solve this? Is it somehow related to certain locations in the game? I'm quite puzzled, because up to now everything has worked perfectly. No sound issues or other bugs.
