Is there a way to install mods on linux version of Pathfinder Kingmaker?

I desperately need the "Fast travel" mod since the walking speed is so low that it's too boring to play....
Also I appreciate "Kingdom resolution" in order to avoid waiting forever for event cards to complete
Do anybody know how to get mods working on Linux?

Usually this is straightforward manually, but every mods I've checked out only mention the Unity Mod Manager (UMM), which doesn't work properly on Linux. I got it running, but it looks terrible and I can't interact with it.

Have tried to put the skipintro mod in different folders, moving it around, under both "mods" and "Mods", and using uppercase and lowercase -- but I can't get them to work. Same with the vendor in the throne room, though I haven't tested it as meticulously with save games, since the pretty basic skipintro doesn't even work.

See attachment for where I have them right now, but as said I've tried many permutations. Is it truly not possible to get mods to work for this game without the UMM application? Stuff like that is usually just for managing mods, not to get them to work. Typically they just automate things like installation and uninstallation, disabling them, etc.

You need a way to inject mods, which UMM does. The game doesn't have a native support for it. Maybe if you can get your hands on the source code for UMM you could make it run on unix. Sadly, such things are just a reality of gaming on non-windows systems.
Wasn't aware this game was so mod unfriendly. It's usually much easier, with no need for code insertion. That's pretty extreme. Good thing the next game is meant to be more mod friendly, as it was a stretch goal.
Since I can't get mods working right now, do you know if it's possible to edit the voice style of the main character? How?

I was listening to music while setting up the character and clicked on Aggressive because I thought it was the one I liked from earlier. But it's an obnoxious arse really, and I had to put those "barks" on Never. Would much prefer to be able to choose a different one by editing party.json file or whatever is required. But I can't find anything obvious in there (and it's a huge file with terrible formatting).
Yay, got mods working now (I hope..). Only needed to update mono, as the version that came pre-installed with Linux Mint was very outdated (wine is usually preferred for all such things). Got UMM working properly now, and got a menu in-game. What mod would I need to change character settings like the voice set? Do I need the Bag of Tricks mod? It looks rather cheaty from screenshots.

Sure wish this was possible via normal settings. Pretty sure we could do that in BG2 :-/

Only thing that would do that would be respec mod, iirc.

Of the mods that are nice to have:
Cleaner - a must
Bag of tricks - unless you can't resist cheating it's AIO build testing tool. Also helps fix some stuff other mods might break.
Respec - Works better than in-game one.
Visual adjustments - Don't let powergaming get in the way of syle!

CoTW+favored class - more stuff and much unlike EA it doesn't have too much broken stuff and fixes some mechanical errors of the original. Bard nerf alone kinda makes up for a bit stronger options. I'd recommend turning off companion stats and less skillpoints. If only cause they ruin my glorious Val. Kinda debatable if the mod cheating or not, but it has a bit more sane approach to ability power level than EA, so I'd give it a pass.

Thanks. Uninstalled Bag of tricks since I didn't see a way to do that with it (and I worry it will enable some cheats by default, or mess up the save somehow). Then somebody answered my call for help over there, and this can actually be done with Visual adjustments. So I installed that one and got it sorted. Very nice :)

SkipIntro doesn't work for some reason, but it's not that big a deal.

Not installed Cleaner yet, but will have it in mind for later, when loading times get more annoying. Have seen many others recommend it too, so hopefully it won't mess up save games.

I did download and install Better vendors for throne room vendors, so I hope that works once I get there. Plus custom map markers. Not tried it yet, but I hope that will work as well, so I can note down things in case I need to run away from a map or something.

Btw: Must UMM always be run for these things to be inserted into the save games, or do we only need to run UMM when changing the settings, and it's then saved in the save files themselves?

Not sure what EA means, but presumably not Evil Arts? :P

No, it injects what needs to be injected when you press patch the game with it. You only need to launch it to install mods, since you can disable them from UMM menu.

CoTW - call of the wild, EA - eldritch arcana.
