I know what the solution is since I looked it up (not really a fan of puzzles in RPGs). But how is a player actually supposed to solve it? Are there hints in the game?

The only thing I could find online about someone actually solving the puzzle was a post from a player who brute-forced the answer by putting different combinations of items into the chests. This sounds really tedious and I assume there's a more elegant solution. For instance, you can answer the golem's questions if you found the book about Irovetti's origins at the Rushlight tournament, but how is a player supposed to guess that you put the cup, the statuette, and the lute into the chests?

There're no hints as far as I remember, but if you actually look at your drops from the area, you'll see few seemingly useless items that no one else wants. And then it's just simple job of putting them into those chests until you'll find a good combination. There're only 3 chests so it's not a big deal tbh.

Okay, yeah, I guess that's something, but I feel like a little bit more of a hint would have been helpful. But you're right, the answer's not as much out of left field as I had thought.
