I was thinking of trying this out for the first time since the Enhanced Edition was released. I heard way too many negatives about this game up first release.

I guess what I'm asking is - have all of these issues upon release been fixed? Combat imbalances? Armor stacking bugs, etc? I'd like an opinion from someone who has played both the initial release and this enhanced edition.

Thanks!
game is mostly playable, only serious bug is nat armor on some mobs, but I bet it'll get fixed on monday.
PS. The game is still challenging, but the difficulty is highly customizable. Whatever people say, you don't have to save-scum to go through hard. Unfair is a beast of it's own and earlygame is way too brutal. Maybe someone who is immeasurably better than me at the game can do an unfair ironman run.
Generally, just pick whatever difficulty you don't have to rely on RNG to win on. That would be your difficulty. My first run was on challenging with scuffed builds and I'm not ashamed of it in the slightest.

The game is in a good shape after almost a year of patching. There are still bugs; monks can use shields to stack AC, bugs in the campaign etc but overall it´s a good experience. Also the UI can still benefit from an overhaul to better present what´s occuring and you will need to google certain Pathfinder concepts. Also be aware that the hard difficulties are hard.

I would recommend this game in it´s current state.

Edit: I would also recommend InEffects great guides here at the forum

Honestly, from what it sounds like what you guys are saying, it still doesn't sound like it's worth buying yet. At least not for only 33% off for now.

They release an enhanced edition of the game and there's STILL lots of kinks to work out? Really?

Think I'll hold off for now.

Given the amount of content, and the relatively benign bugs, it was worth it at full price (although I also bought it on sale, 30% off I think). Buy it, for 33% off. You won't regret it (unless you hate this kind of game, and you should know what you're getting into first).

Like nearly all games, this game will continue to have issues (not necessarily bugs) long after the developers have abandoned it for their next project. You need to decide how much is tolerable: do any of the bugs actually affect you or your enjoyment of the game? None of the bugs except for invisible mites bothered me since purchase 6 months ago, and even that was tolerable. Balancing a game for all player types and builds is impossible, and you can change your difficulty settings at any time. 33% off is a great deal. Of course 85% off 5 years from now will be an even better deal, but as I said, there will still be issues (albeit issues that are far less likely to get fixed, even if you report them). Does it have to be free before a bug doesn't bother you any more? What specific bugs bother you about the game right now?
