Since I value my sanity I turned down the difficulty to "Story" a while ago. According to its description and patch notes Damage Reduction should be switched off on this difficulty... Yet I still see countless "Damage: 0 (Reduced)". I switched difficulty a couple of times to see if it fixes anything, but I don't see any difference in this between story, easy or normal.

Anyone knows what's going on? Does the difficulty change apply only to new saves? (God I hope not)

Do you have a screenshot of what you're talking about?

Is it damage being done to Amiri?

Damage done to enemies? To specific enemies or all enemies?

Essentially, I encounter enemies, I hit them and the battle log tells me the damage dealt was reduced (often to zero). It occurs on different enemies, both bosses and "normal" creatures. It also doesn't matter which character attacks, it can happen to anyone.

The damage dealt to my party seems to be adjusted by difficulty setting correctly, it's only when I attack enemies.

You're...attacking a stone golem. They have DR X/Adamantine natively. Quite a lot, actually.

I mean, it may be a bug that the Damage Reduction is not removed from them on Story mode? Because you're right it is mentioned in the patch notes.

That particualr change was supposed to be introduced in 1.0.2, Sep 28 2018.

If you started the gmae prior to that, your supposition may be accurate that you'd need to start a new game to see those effects.

Frankly, though, on story mode you shouldn't have much of a challenge beating down things with DR even without picking the right weapon. You can just grab an adamantine weapon and go to town - the Heavy Pick Demolisher, for example, is expressly built to destrroy golems and other constructs and should be available to you at the point you are in the game.

Two words: Vordakai's tomb. Oh boy, that was a pain.

And yeah, I'm not saying I can't do that, I'm just confused if it's working as intended. Because it kinda sucks when the game tells me "yeah, there's no damage reduction" but there are still some exceptions to that (and honestly, golems are the easiest of those, all the fae creatures are much more of an annoyance)
