I've tried damn near every fix i could find, even the fixes that contradict the other fixes, and basically nothing is working. I just want the client to work, which is even more infuriating as i reinstalled Heroes of Might and Magic III to test, and it installed absolutely fine witn no issue. I've been at this for days now, and the fact that a simple installation of a game is apparently such a daunting task is infuriating.

Also, guessing a few of us are here thanks to Mandalore?
Its gotta be something to do with the launcher or updater. Just started the game fine from the exe in the files.
Had the same problem for a couple of days, tried deleting the folder manually and reinstall a couple of times with no avail. I've abandoned hope of it working this morning, but left the download in the failed state. I've just noticed that it somehow got installed properly, probably in the last few hours. Perhaps something changed on the server side? Anyway if anyone is still experiencing this issue I would recommend uninstall, manual delete of game files, and clean install, looks like it works now.

I'm having the same issue, I applied the workaround of using the offline installer, but now that it tried to download a new 1GB patch, it gets stuck again at 97%, as it's a patch I can't just force it to uninstall and reinstall again, GOG Galaxy won't even close.
Uninstall the POS GOG Galaxy 2.0, and learn to install, update, patch, your games yourself. it's not hard.

just re-install v2.17b and also all the DLC's for 2.17b and the game will work fine.
Hi,
I'm a Win10 Galaxy 2.0 user. I had the E3 issue with SC3K. I tryed countless times to install it with no success. Until I noticed that for an unknown reason, the wifi connection I was using was configured as "Public" (although it is a private one). I changed it to "Private", cleaned the game installation folder, restarted Gog Galaxy and launched the installtion one last time. It went like a charm.

Warning :
- I'm just sharing my experience. I'm not saying the wifi trick solved the problem. As other users said, sometimes they had the E3 problem, did nothing at all and it finally went to work. So what I did may be a complete coincidence.
- Don't change the Wifi to private if you're on public hotspot. JUST DON'T.
