Just started to notice this, whenever I baleful poly the last member of an attacking group my own party start fighting each other. Happened twice so far.

Have you checked if the party members are under a specific effect when they do it?

Or perhaps you are just not feeding them enough? ;-)

LMAO, yeah I feed them, just not after midnight. Indeed it was the first thing I checked that they where not charmed etc.
