Anyone know if the arcane pool buffs work with unarmed strikes/claws?

Mastererrant: Anyone know if the arcane pool buffs work with unarmed strikes/claws?
it does not affect either of those
even more so with claws it will always deal stated amount of attacks. dragon claws from draconic bloodline deal 2 strikes at all levels for example. same with barbarian totem an alchemists feral mutagen. they all are shit. transformations can be good, depending on the form but really it's just for sorc, pretty much. maybe druid a little. also transformations in PF only buff your existing stats, not replace em. so if you wanna be a buff dragon - you gotta be a buff mage to begin with. shape-shifters - hit the gym!

Was thinking scaled fist/eldrich scion actually ..but that isn't so good in AP doesn't work with unarmed. looking more at versitility than raw power.

thanks.

however you look at it dragon claws are really useless. ok at lvl1 though to get 2 attacks with no penalties if you are doing str scion

just mentioned the claws because they're there in the bloodline.

I'm doing a fire based Scaled Fist. If AP effects "Did" work on unarmed if offer the potential to have other elemental effects as well as alignent based ones

but I would Dual mostly for the spells. I have delved past the broken tower (Waiting for the big bugs to be squished) and have several Characters at LVL7 to choose from when I'm ready. I'm just playing with build ideas

If the games gets DLC and higher level play I can see a SF/SORC/DD (SF/ES/DD) being very fun aand meat grinderish I agree about the dragon claws kinda Meh they get interesting at higher levels...about the time you get dargon shape.
even if it worked it would land you being a meh scion and meh scaled fist. double meh doesn't make one yay in this game. I have 2 guides done about scion and how it can be done with and without scaled fist - you can use those as is or take pointers from them. general thing is I would strongly recommend against using DD and scaled fist at the same time for scion. it just doesn't mesh well. you will end up dropping paladin for it with pretty much nothing gained.

upd I guess you could do scion13/dd4/scaled1/paladin2 but it will cost you 1 ab that you already are not exactly drowning in. and rely on transmutation... still no unarmed though.

also sorc/dd/sf is already amazing. once you get to level 15 or so. have that guide done as well

Not flaming or anything...But I am way to old school to do that kind of power gaming.
I was looking at the possibikity of unarmed ES because it would be harder and cool...

Thanks for the ideas though...I'll think on em

this game is about power-gaming though. just look at those stats on monsters. also power-gaming is not bad per se. I can see justifying ES/DD/EK/PAL or ES/SF/PAL. nothing stands out in terms of RP as totally outlandish I would start as a paladin2 for RP though as that makes more sense to me as you then discover bloodline magic powers lurking inside, yada yada

No it isn't. Power gaming is anathema to me. There is nothing worse and I play this game with no thought to min/maxing my characters, just like any other game I play. It's just as much... no, MORE fun that way.

gimping your character on purpose with a sole reason of weakening him sounds just as bad to me. to each their own, I guess

it mean sure taking 10 multi-classes is an overkill although it makes a strong character in the end but taking 4 classes that mesh together well is no crime in my book. also hard and up without min-maxing will be a total suffer.

That's because that is how you are used to playing. In character building RPGs I always give myself strict build rules, and I stick to them. Like X amount of dice roles for XYZ reason at character creation. It's how I've always played. I generally end up playing (what others would deem) much under-par/underpowered characters. But it's how I like it.

understandable. I just think it limits you too much. with such restrictions pure classes like sword saint and vivsectionist will have 0 competition

Limitations is what it's all about. I don't believe my character should be superman in any way, shape or form.

imo being super-heroes is all it is about. heroes should be better than random farmer Joe. that's why they are able to do what they do. veteran soldiers/best magic students etc, etc. weak sauce wanna-be-heroes just die out before they get a chance of having bards to sing about them.

I do know the RP line of thought you come from, it has merits too, I just don't think RP and mechanically solid character are somehow mutually exclusive.

but in the end everyone should do whatever they have the most fun at. that I can totally agree on.

No. No, they don't. Not in my world.

It's like you said, each to his/her own. And that's the way it should be.
