Maybe this forum is deserted now, but I'll try anyway. I'm in chapter two, and went to the Bald Hilltop to fight off the spawns there. I went there almost on the hour when the timer expired, because then it was supposed to reach a peak. But there is nothing there. Absolutely nothing. Is the journal really so confusing? I was sure I had to wait until it reached peak, but hadn't been there previously this save, as I was going elsewhere, trying to cover some ground in that one month period.

Did get a 1-day mission to deal with some spiders, which was done successfully (seems like these auto succeed, at least there was no dice roll info). Does that cancel the whole event or something?

In the journal, the quest is listed as failed right now, which was weird I thought, given that it had just reached peak level.

Unfortunately I quicksaved several times going back and forth to the capital, trying to trigger the fight, so I don't have a quick or autosave with enough time to get there before the timer expires. Will have to go back quite a bit to the last manual save.

Saw many others posts with confused people wondering about this after a seach, so at least it's not just me. But nice if somebody could comment on what has gone wrong here, as I didn't see anything in those other posts either.

I did indeed have to go back and do this fight before the curse would have reached its peak, at least according to the journal text. Thankfully the manual save from Lone House didn't involve too much backtracking, as I had to get back to the Bald Hilltop pretty quickly anyway to beat the deadline.
