One billion patches later and games still overheats machine on opening menu.

Tried vertical sync in both game and Nvidia settings. Changed every setting in game. Still same results.
Computer goes nuts (Gets really warm) and shuts down.

No similar problems with any other game. Using a 1070.

disable AA. it has real weird implementation in this game. should help.

"Changed every setting in game" Yes I have. every now and then I boot the game it manages to calm down, but it's rare. Something about the opening screen is messed up. Would love an option for a simple menu, without the rotation and candles and stuff.

What's your hardware?

I'm not having any graphics problems, but I agree with this sentiment. It seems like a silly time-waster to have to wait for the screen to settle down enough to click Load.

I also have a 1070. I had a similar issue some patches back and I had to delete and reinstall the game and that got it to work, but all my auto and quick saves were really messed up. Before you delete the game and reinstall maybe the new 1.13 patch will fix it? Worth trying at least.
