The game fails immediately when I try to run it...with no other indication given of what might be wrong.

I'm trying to run it on a Surface Pro running Win 8 Pro. I've tried various compatibility settings including trying to run as if using win 7 or XP. No dice. I've dried running without scaling to OS resolution (often a problem on the surface) no dice.

Of course I've given admin permission as well. Also tried rebooting the surface with the usual text size set to 100% (default Is 150%, which is often a problem for games...usually fixed with the scaling setting I mentioned above).

My resolution is set to the max (1920 x 1080).

Any ideas?

I'm not seeing an obvious error log in the directory I could attach...but I'm happy to do so if anybody knows the file name.

Really looking forward to this one. If I have to play it on my win 7 desktop at home, that'll just have to do...but I'd love to be able to play it on my surface on lunch breaks.

Edit:And of course I forgot to tag this as a question...blarg. Forums won't let me either tag it or delete & repost:(

Hello ! I have exactly the same issue, with exactly the same hardware. Really curious ... I've have no clue ...
I'm not familiar with windows 8 at all as I am avoiding it like the plague - so don't take anything I say too seriously:

However if the game fails immediately it seems to indicate that it may be a .NET or Direct X issue - but since you are running windows 8 - one would assume already have the latest version installed by default.

Is your computer running a 64bit OS? In which case, do you have installed the correct versions of the system resources you need?

Hi guys. I'm sorry but it looks like the game doesn't run on the Surface Pro.

I suspect it's something to do with the Surface/Win8's poor OpenGL support but I'm not really sure. I'm going to buy a Surface Pro and try to figure out what's going on, but it likely won't be a quick fix.

If possible, please try to play the game on a different system.

Thank you for your quick answer Dukope ! It's my main computer now, so it will be difficult for me to play it on another system. I will try to find a Mac or something when I come back from my holidays.

I don't know if there are some updates to do ? For Open GL support ?
Thank you.

Unfortunately it's my understanding you more than likely have the most up-to-date OpenGL drivers that would be available.

Apparently not, I've just dowloaded the last drivers for HD graphics 4000 on Intel website and the game launches :) Seems like there are some bugs with custom driver included in Surface Pro ... Well, problem is solved !
