The Dev is aware of this issue and is trying to fix it, uninstalling and reinstalling to another drive and or directory.
The red [1] won't leave, I went to the game, saw that there was an update...but the red thing is still there :(
edit: also, is there a list of fixes / adds that come with the update?

I have that issue with the site too, you should report it, it will go away eventually, as for the changelog, it is here: http://papersplea.se/update/ you will notice a 1.0.37 steam beta build (its not live yet) to fix the start up issue. but the changelog for 1.0.36 is there.

But for convenience here is the change log:

Fixed common startup crash

Alright thanks, I submitted a ticket.

The fixes don't look radical enough to justify a 3rd playthrough just now, but thanks for adding that list as well.

Removed many inappropriate immigrant names
Why was that necessary? I liked to detain people like C*nt Assp*ssy.

Lucas Pope, the game creator, wants to a) not ruin the seriousness of the title, and b) not to offend people so he is playing it safe by removing those names if you have a issue with that feel free to get him on twitter (be respectful) at @dukope
or by sending a email at http://papersplea.se/support/

No, I dont represent the dev in anyway, just want people who have issues to contact the proper person.

I don't know what the names were, but I can't imagine they'd offend me. I completely understand why he would remove them though.
