I have also heard that it runs under Wine, but I haven't tried it. So, YMMV.

It works more or less fine, even on a clean WINEPREFIX. Still, a native port would be desirable since wine compatibility can always break with new releases.

hopefully a GOG Linux version coming soon, don't see why this one would be hard to port if it isn't already

It's already ported, available @Humble Store, hopefully GOG gets the Linux version soon too.
