Ah ok so just download the new installer. Delete and reinstall? I could not find save directory.

You can just run the installer without having to delete anything as it should just overwrite what it needs to overwrite :)

Thanks! Works great, but any word on the Coral bug? The chest there is empty...

No, I haven't heard anything regarding that as of right now, will ask about it, though :)

Thanks! Really sorry to drag this thread out, there also appears to be an issue with a certain key much much later in the game not appearing as a useable item.

You know, what would really help is if anyone who is interested could gather up the bugs in version 2.4b in a list and I can send a report about them all at once :)
The GOG support team refused to refund my money and told me all bugs were fixed months ago, despite the coral bug being one of my two main complaints.

I've pretty much given up on this game anyway, but it's sad to see that support screwed me out of my 30 day money back guarantee without ever addressing that bug for all these months.

Did the game not play or did you genuinely want a full refund because a minor sidequest did not work...?

If you think the reward for that quest is minor (it's the best in the game), you haven't been playing 1980's mode.

And no, there were a whole bunch of bugs when I requested my refund, which I spent many hours trying to work around without success.

Makes sense.
My understanding of the refund policy is that they're only up for it if the game is mechanically unplayable.

Edit: Consider contacting the developer? I doubt GOG would be willing to refund you, since the game is TECHNICALLY playable.

That the game being "playable" is the restriction for the money-back guarantee is not quite as I understand it. The policy simply gives "not being able to launch" as one example, but any "serious technical issue" will suffice. I could be wrong, but GOG never clued me in if that was the case.

The developer has patched these bugs for the Steam release before I even stumbled across this game, so they know full well that they're shafting their GOG customers. The GOG support team told me that the developer was having real life problems and they were having trouble contacting them, but that was ages ago.

My time is worth more than the 5 or 10 dollars this game cost. Spending hours working with the support team, scouring the Steam forums, and testing fixes was enough for me. I'm no longer looking for solutions or redress from GOG or the developer. I'm happy to just chalk it up as a lesson learned. I'm confidant that my scathing reviews of the process will cost everybody involved more than my hourly billing rate, so there will be some justice :P
When can we expect the artbook & the mini-guide to be released? Are they still being worked on?
First install ever directly to 2.4b and there are annoying pauses/interrupts in music + keyboard & mouse input :^(
I'm running an AMD 64-bit rig with win7.
