If you get an Error message when trying to run this game for the first time
on Windows XP then go to your Panzer General 2 folder and either delete
ddraw.dll or just create a new folder and move into the new folder.
The reason for making a folder and moving ddraw.dll to it is because
if you have any other problems you still have a copy of the original file.

i can load the game now, but the main screen mouseovers are blacked out. Oy i about give up on these old games.

I manages to get PG2 running in Windows 8 64bit pro by deleting the ddraw.dll file. Slight problem with the cursor but is workable. Same thing in VMware.
