stjbird: I have a question about prestige in a campaign. The game is very hard for me and I want to make it a bit easier... when selecting a campaign does the prestige effect you or the AI? For example on the German long campaign if I select 50% prestige does that effect the AI supplies or mine or both haha? Any help is much appreciated!
It means that you will get more prestige points that you can spend in the NEXT scenario (Actually, you can spend the points in the current scenario, but I wouldn't advise it unless you're about to lose a unit or something).
So, say you set it at 50. That is the hardest, because you are only getting 50% prestige for winning a scenario. If you set it at 100, you will get 100%, 150 150%, and so on... So if you're a beginner, crank it up. You won't notice much difference, if any, in the first scenario of the campaign, but if you survive, you will notice a huge difference in how many points you have to spend to replace destroyed units and buy new ones, etc.
When you get good you shouldn't be losing units at all, so these points will be put towards upgrading and occasional new purchases and overstrengths, but that's down the road. For now, there is not shame to crank that number up, try to win the first battle and then spend, spend, spend... When you get the hang of it, you can be more economical in your choices.
