Kirben: The Pajama Sam games offer different paths to find the items, depending on how many times you have played the game.
I'm actually not sure if that occurs in the ScummVM version or not.
strange-benhur: I just finished Pajama Sam 1 for the first time and I liked it. I have noticed however that the game has these oddly place dead ends. What I mean are rooms or areas where you do not do anything major. You might encounter a funny character like the talking well or collect some socks or interact with something in the room that does nothing to progress you further in the game. Does anyone else agree?
Glad you liked it! Definitely check out Thunder and Lightning also, and I'll recommend You Are What You Eat from Vol. 2 (but you may want to wait for a sale, since the other two games in Vol. 2 are "meh" imo).
Some of that stuff is just there to be fun, since the games are targeted at kids. Rooms that have nothing related to the story may still have "click-its", fun animations that have nothing to do with the story that occur if the mouse cursor is filled in.
