Hey guys,
I bought Painkiller Black Edition, everything was going fine for the first few days. But at that time I was in the middle of update my video driver, etc... I must have changed something cause now when I launch the game, all I see is a black screen, but a can still hear the sound of the intro.
Maybe it as to do with my Directx version, I don't know. Anyone know where that could come from please?

It works fine as admin? Hmm. Did you by any chance install into Program Files (or Program Files (x86) if on a 64-bit Windows)? If so, don't. Vista and above try to protect the Program Files folders with UAC and DEP, which can cause problems. Running as admin can get around this, but installing into an unprotected folder of your own is advised, especially for older games that were from before Vista's UAC and DEP.

Also, did you install by running the installer as admin? GOG recommend doing this just to be on the safe side. I think the new version 2.0 installers try to elevate privileges anyway, but the old version 1.0 ones don't.

Painkiller was one of the first games I bought here on GOG and three years later I still haven't gotten around to playing it! Too many games, so little time.
