Hi,
Game installs fine, but the expansion pack will not play. When it starts the computer reboots after a second or two. The video 'cut scenes' play fine. This just happens with the expansion pack, Heaven's got a hitman starts and plays great at least on the first level (I have only played the first level).
Appreciate any assistance.
Windows XP SP2 professional
Nvdia 7600 video card with latest Nvdia drivers.
I have discovered that the expansion pack will play if I lower video performance. I have to lower resolution to 800 X 600, texture options to medium. I also have deselected everything in the advance tab except for weapon visibility.
I tried to raising the resolution to next higher level but this will cause the game to reboot the pc at random times. One particle spot is just after climbing the stairs at the front of the orphanage.
I'll keep playing around with the settings to find that sweet spot. Maybe betweenthe Nvidia Control panel settings and Painkiller I can find a happy medium.
Contact the support as this is not normal at all. They might find a way so you can play your game as it should be played.
Good luck :)
Make sure your video card acceleration is turned on. To do this right click your desktop and choose properties, click the settings tab, then click advanced, then the troubleshoot tab make sure the slider is set to full.
Thanks, I have contacted support, haven't heard from them yet. I will check out the video card acceleration setting ASAP. Thanks again for the suggestions.
Hard acceleration is set to full. Hopefully support has a few ideas.
Just a FYI. I am able to play the expansion pack on Ubuntu 8.04 under Wine. It
actually plays pretty good. So far I haven't noticed any problems. Mouse sensitivigy is a bit fast. I can live with this.
Did you ever hear back from support regarding your issue?
Yes I did but nothing helped me. . Don't know what the issue was with the old PC. I do appreciate all the help. Thanks again.
Anyway I have moved on to a newer PC that I build and Painkiller and the expansion pack run just find on it.
