I just downloaded this game and have gotten to the catacombs. It's great so far, but I've noticed something strange: enemies that throw things seem to die after they throw their stuff. In the level 2, chapter one, the axe-wielding monks die after throwing their axes. In the catacombs, there's these guys that throw knives, then seem to turn into some sort of huge hulk. I'm thinking these are what the manual calls "vamps" and they're supposed to transform only after being killed. Is this a glitch of some sort?

The monks most defiantly shouldn't be dieing after throwing things. If you on windows 7 or vista did you intall the program by right clicking the setup file and running it as an admin? Also run it as admin when you play it as well by doing the same on the games shortcut or going into the properties window and setting it permantly on the compatibility tab. Something definatly sounds like its bugged though.
Actually, i think that there are 3 version of monks.
-The melee monk, big axe
-The ranged monk, throwing axes and they usually do die after throwing the axes
-The other ranged monk, throwing bombs.
The vamps i think have melee and ranged attacks, and they do transform into big vamps after being killed. Freezing them + Shotgun blast takes care of them;)

Your right Namur I may have been too hasty in my definatlys just watched a youtube clip of the second level and it appears they do actually die after throwing the axe. Its been a while sinse I played the game but I can't remember them doing that. Seems your game is fine Ossius just my memory being crap.

It kinda makes sense, as they have no more weapons after throwing the axes ;)

I dunno they could claw at you or something. Most things don't just fall down dead after throwing something.

True, i guess they could, they're Evil Monks after all. What doesn't make sense to me is why on earth they don't carry more throwing axes with them. Plenty of room in their evil monk robes ;)
Seriously, i think they could be just a way to make soul collecting a bit more difficult at some points, or that's the only reason i can see for them to drop dead on their own and usually a bit far off.
Ok, good to hear. Also, I've had the chance to play a bit more of the catacombs, and now it seems like the vamps aren't transforming immediately after throwing their knives. There must have been something else going on there.
