All it does is replace the engine.dll file with a different one. This enables you to force vsync and use Multisampling without suffering the extremely long load times.

Actually, I don't understand why we needed a patch to replace one file. I would think that we're all capable of dragging a file to a folder and clicking replace.

That's actually a very welcome change - one of my biggest peeves with the game for sure. Thanks for providing the info.
After installing the update, the graphics glitch I had on the Chapter 1 boss went away.
Removes the long load times with Vsync turned on. I am hoping that they eventually update the installer itself to 1.0.1 so I can update my backup files, but I'm not entirely sure if they will do that.
