Downloaded the files for Painkiller Black Edition but when I try to run it I get an error window that read "The setup files are corrupted. Please download a new copy of the program"

It took well over an hour to download everything now I have to do it again with no guarantee they will be correct.

Any suggestions?

This can sometimes happen, espcially on slower connections that take longer to get the file (more time for an error to crop up). Try downloading again, but maybe do it when you aren't using the internet for anything else. Some people say virus scanners can affect a download too (I've never seen this myself though) so you might try turning off your virus scanner for the duration of the download.

If it still doesn't work, try the GOG downloader to get the game as this is supposed to do some verification checks during the download.

Lastly, you could try using a different machine and internet connection (a friend maybe) to see if that works.

I'll try using the GOG downloader with nothing else open and the virus protection disable. Thank you!
