How does Pacific General compare to Fantasy General?

I have the latter on CD and the strategy guide, really enjoy that game the most out of the 4 that I have played (Panzer, Allied, Fantasy, and Star General), but I have never played Pacific General. I have the most experience with Fantasy General.

I am wondering if the gameplay is more like FG than some of the earlier entries, such as Panzer or Allied? (Obviously the setting is no longer fantasy and units differ, not talking about those obvious differences.)

Its closer to Allied and Panzer General.

Its obviously set during the Pacific War so if you no interest in that side of WWII it won't set you on fire. but if you do its a great game.
