Hi,

when I launch this game, it crashes after playing the SSI intro video. I know I had a similar issue years ago when I played this game from another source, and so I've logged this as a support case with GOG, but has anyone else found a way to get it to work so far after having this problem?

I've tried the normal compatibility mode switches, but that didnt work.

Well, I've solved this and it's thanks to fan work from years ago, which shows that GOG hasn't really put in any effort into testing / getting this working on modern machinery.

Step 1 - change the install path so it doesn't have a space in it.
Step 2 - if you get screen artifacting, open control panel, and go into where you adjust your screen resolution. Launch the game while this is open.

I've got 229 games on GOG and this is the laziest I've seen them personally. Up there with not being able to skip the intro videos in Star Wars Rebellion - another widespread issue known long before it was available here.
Wow this old thread nailed it for me. Definitely Step 2 Tried all the others no avail Using Windows 7 All the colors were wrong for the intro of SSI. Than the main game screens was a mash of pixels all different colors. Fixed and I am playing !

Compatibility table just used XP service pack 3 no to run as admin

Are you really using the last updated version? The game was updated years ago to be functional with a bundled wrapper and no compatibility modes needed. Even today the game has beed updated again. They just changed to a different wrapper.
