Wow can't believe Pacific General is now on GOG!

One question though, why is the background image in the GOG store page for Pacific General showing an airplane that's mainly used in the European Theater of the war?

Right now it shows Spitfires, which were used during the Battle of Britain and as far as I know Britain never exported that plane to the US for use in the Pacific theater of operation, which is where Pacific General takes place.

Clarification would be greatly appreciated!

Although I can't speak for our art and graphics team, I can confirm that spitfires were used in the Pacific war -

They were, even as a carrier variant called Seafire. Still this isn't airplane readily assosiated with Pacific theather. Hellcat or Zero would be better choice. I'm neatpicking that one but hell, this is a game for neatpickers like me :D
Spitfires were used quite a bit in the Pacific Theater, mainly by the Briitsh in Burma.

Surprised the OP in this thread seems unaware that Britain was at war with Japan;in fact Burma was primarily a British operation.
And although I am not sure, I think that Australia and New Guinea also used the Spitfire .

I agree that a Hellcat, Corsair, or Zero would have been better, but the Spitfire was indeed used in the Pacific thater quite a bit by the British.

Will the old equipment packs from the original version work on this software?
There shouldn't be any issue provided you follow the instructions provided by the content creators.

Just bear in mind this isn't supported by us :)
I have tried some Pacgen Equipment packs, and so far they all work fine on the GOG version.

Not saying you are wrong, but the Brits used mostly obsolete aircraft in the Pacific Theater. During WW2 they have prioritized their resources as following:

1) Homeland defense
2) Middle East (North Africa)
3) Far East (Pacific Theater)

So Spitfires should have been rare in their Pacific colonies during the first years, mostly Hurricanes and other older types. In PacGen standard campaign, the scenarios that involves UK are usually from the Japanese expansion period and there shouldn't be Spitfires present at that time.
