When I'm trying to play Oxenfree from GOG Galaxy client I'm getting following error:

Failed to initialize Direct3D.
Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0c installed, have drivers for your
graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration
in display settings.
InitializeEngineGraphics failed

I have a PC with Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) and the latest DirectX installed (v12).

Same thing happened to me when I played from my Steampowered download... no answer, just in the same boat

I did not totally understand it, but updating my graphics driver [previously installed was only the one that Windows loads automatically] and renaming the d3d9.dll in the game folder did it for me. I would post the link where I found that solution but I'm unfortunately not allowed to.
